In October 2005, Hurricane Wilma moved over South Florida with high winds and torrential rains. In the community of Immokalee, many homes and mobile homes housing migrant farm workers were damaged beyond repair.
Taxis Group and its development arm, Sanctuary Development, LLC introduced a innovative approach to disaster recovery - Rebuild using energy efficient, storm resistant construction systems at modest cost to obtain high value.
The following photo journey follows the progression of our rebuilding efforts from storm to completion of new affordable, safe, efficient and comfortable homes.
